Take a moment and read God’s Word this morning:
Joshua 1:5-6
No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you. “Be strong and courageous, for you are the one who will lead these people to possess all the land I swore to their ancestors I would give them.
In this situation, Moses, their leader, had died and people were unsure about their future. All they had were questions.
Think: If you and I really believe God when He says, “I will not fail you or abandon you,” how would we live differently because of that promise?

Let’s start the day off right by praying this together. Pause now and remember that God is close to you:
Dear God,
Thank you for the fresh start of a new school year.
As we walk the hallways today, please quiet our worries and fill us with confidence.
Guide our minds to stay focused on our current work and future goals.
Protect our hearts from the pressure to fit in or to compromise our values.
Strengthen our character so that we stick up for each other and stand strong for You.
Protect our emotions so that we aren’t easily manipulated or misguided.
We pray for continued physical healing for any of us who are hurt, injured or in pain.
Bless our friendships – help us to be strong encouragers and to have genuine respect for those we meet today.
Give us the courage to handle every challenge and school pressure with grace.
We love you Lord and thank you for each other. Amen.
